Memories on "the big red one"...
|

When I was a little boy, I watched a big SL... Then SL had gone from Japanese railways at all...
When I was 10 or 11 years old, I enjoyed something films about the history of transport and I knew "05"...
Type "05" is a German SL that had run over 200km/h! It was the first record in history!! Since then, I hoped to see this big red "05" for long and long years...
In 1998, when I was in Germany, I, at last see "05" at a Museum in Nuremburg!! 
* I took them by my manual camera with nega-films in the late of December 1998 and I scaned the prints...

I remember...

Beethoven when I happenly hear his music...
In October 1998, the Concert held at my town, Wakkanai... I joined that concert as a member of chorus for "Symphony #9"...
Then I had a chanse to trip to Europe in December and I visit Bonn or place where Beethoven was born...
The visit was impressive for me!!
#1 : I wounder "Beethoven" can hear Church bells at his hometown...]
#2 : I gound his house!!
#3 : I imagine "Little Ludwig" saw something over these windows...

"The Dome"
|
|
This is located near by my apartment and I took photos often...
The Dome was build in 1931 to 1936 as the protector for the terminal to Sakhalin, roads and railways against big wave and strong wind. The Dome's unique figure like an ancient Roman corridor is very famous.In 1978, the Dome was restored. It had passed a half century after the construction. The restoration works had continued for 3 years and 427m length restored one appeared.
The Dome always show us the history of "Ship services to Karafuto". And people of Wakkanai feel that the Dome is the symbol of city's history as a harbour side city.
