Japanese traditional kites...

I found an interesting display for the coming New Year Season!
These are Japanese traditional kites!! 
People thought kite is toy for the New Year Season... I do not why... 
People on Rebun island or the island offshore Wakkanai, keep making these kind of kites because they are grand-grand children of people from Aomori or the northern end of Honsyu island...
Anyway, the kites are beautiful and it is happy to see them!!

Long trip by local trains... Between Obihiro and Wakkanai...

I made a trip between Obihiro and Wakkanai by local trains...
I had departed from Obihiro on 06:56 and arrived at Wakkanai on 19:01...
The weather was fine and I really enjoyed!!

Long trip by Local Trains... From Sapporo to Obihiro...

On 16th of December, I had departed from Sapporo early morning or 6AM... And I had arrived at Obihiro on 11:31AM...
At Obihiro, I enjoy watching "BANEI-KEIBA" horse racing and nice evening time with friends...
The trip was nice!

One of the Heritages on Hokkaido... "BANEI-KEIBA"...
|
|
I made long trip to Obihiro and watch famous "BANEI-KEIBA".
The Racecource is 200-meter-long straight separate courses with 2 humps in the middle. The corse is covered with over 30-centimeter deep sand, and horses star frpm the gate clear 1-meter high 1st hump and they fight with 1.5-meter high 2nd hump. And the horses pull 500-kilogram sleights.
Most of race horses are large-size breed from Hokkaido, Japan.
It is very interesting event!!
